I would like to tweak the start menu delay, but I haven't had any luck finding out how. Is there a setting, even in the registry, that allows me to set the delay? I don't want to use Tweak UI, I have read some bad reviews that it is not recommended for XP users. dave.

My client bills $180 per hour and says that the 400ms show menu delay in Office costs him $.02 everytime someone in his company clicks an office menu. I've now got TweakUI installed on my computer, and while everything else works (eg changing the boot options) I still can't change the menu delay. (Someone also suggested putting the new key in My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\desktop\WindowMetrics, but this didn't work either.

If you have the menu already, just type a number, & it will wait for you to hit Enter. If you don't have the Start Menu, then it's undoubtedly safest to turn it on this way: "START, Run, type MSConfig & enter, General tab, Advanced button, check 'Enable Startup Menu'".
